Why was I not told this?
You can put a script into a prim without having it automatically start running, by holding down the CTRL key as you drag it from your inventory.

Ok, you're my personal hero for the day. Been wondering for a while how to do that :)

If you mean turning scripts off on the parcel, that'll work too - as long as you have the rights to do so.
But if you're on somebody else's land, and you've just dragged into his or her file cabinet a script which calls llSetPrimitiveParams() in the state_entry() handler...
Or, uh, so I would imagine.

Oh good, I was afraid it was common knowledge and I'd look like an idiot for not knowing it. :)
OH Gee! This will help my teaching career, too. (Especially given the fact that I'm not really a scripter - I just play one in SL - oh, wait! LOL!)
